Household electrical appliance online shopping scale continued to grow, so did its proportion in the overall consumption of household electrical appliances

 

From January to June this year, China had an online shopping market turnover of 855.9 billion Yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 60.2% and accounting for 7.7% of the social retail goods.
 
In the first half of 2013, China had a B2C household electrical appliance online shopping market scale (including mobile phones and tablet PCs) of 53 billion Yuan, with the 4 categories of flat-panel TV, refrigerator, washing machine and air conditioner accounting for approximately 25.8%, reaching 13.7 billion Yuan, small household electrical appliances reaching 5 billion Yuan and mobile phones reaching 30 billion Yuan.
 
In the first half of this year, the proportion of B2C business at the online shopping market continued to increase, reaching 35.1%.
In the first half of this year, the household electrical appliance online shopping market turnover reached 17.7% of the overall B2C online shopping market share.
 

With the improvement of logistics, payment, and after-sales services, expansion of online shopping consumer groups and enhancement of the online shopping concept, online shopping has become a major choice for consumers to buy household electrical appliances, with the proportion of household electrical appliance online shopping in the overall consumption of household electrical appliances constant increasing. In the first half of this year, flat-panel TV online shopping quantity accounted for 8.3% of total retail sales of color TV in the domestic market, the proportion of white goods such as refrigerator, washing machine and air conditioner significantly increased and some newly emerging household electrical appliances such as air purifiers witnessed higher sales and popularity in the online market ever since their birth.
